It's tax season again. Get the forms together, run some numbers, and see how things turned out. That works fine until that one year when you get knocked over with a tax bill you weren't expecting. It's kind of like driving through the rearview mirror. it's tough to know what's ahead and easy to be surprised. 

Years ago before I had any tax training, I hit one of those surprises myself. I started to built a few projections and found a windshield was much more useful than a rear view mirror. It's easier to avoid surprises when you're looking in the right direction.

• Online convenience with no need to meet in person (virtual meetings, secured document portal, e-signatures, and online payments) I'm always happy to meet in person if it works for clients, it's just not required to get your returns filed. 

If you have a small business (Schedule  C), rental or K1 income (Schedule E), investment or property sales (Schedule D), or other unique schedules or items, there may be an additional fee depending on the complexity of those items and estimated time to complete the work. I don't add extra fees unless there's a meaningful amount of extra time required for these items.
