Filing a tax return is kind of like a post game press conference. About all you can do at that point is reflect on what happened. A lot of tax offices are experts in the press conferences and don't offer much else from there.

Instead of driving through the rear view, I use the windshield to think about any changes needed before the next press conference. If the last one went well, then let's keep things on track. If it didn't, then let's adjust to make the next one go better.

I'm always happy to meet in person, it's just not required to get your returns filed. If the portal isn't convenient for you, you don't have to use it.
